What are the differences between a quartz crucible and a graphite crucible?

Release time:2024-04-02Views:143

There are two types of crucibles common on the market nowadays: quartz crucibles and graphite crucibles. I don't know how much you know about the differences between the two, but this article introduces the differences between the two:

1. Differences in materials:

1.The main raw material of the quartz crucible is high-purity quartz sand, and its auxiliary materials are graphite electrodes, graphite molds and size quartz heat shielding plates;

2. The main raw materials of graphite crucibles are a type of crucible made from graphite, clay, silica and wax stone.

2. Differences in purpose:

1. The former is mainly used to draw single crystal silicon. In the laboratory, it can be used not only for evaporation, concentration and crystallization of solutions, but also for burning solid substances.

2. The latter is mainly used to smelt non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, gold, silver, zinc and lead and their alloys.

3. Differences in production processes:

The manufacturing process of quartz crucibles is relatively complex and requires many steps such as two or three inspections before it can be put into storage;

The making process of graphite crucibles is relatively simple, and there are three main methods: hand molding, rotational molding and compression molding.

The above comparison between quartz crucibles and graphite crucibles through materials, uses and manufacturing processes, so we must first clarify the purpose before purchasing.
